By Andrew Atkinson
Some appointments for the AstraZeneca vaccine have been cancelled by the health authorities for second dose vaccines this month.
I had my appointment for June 30 in Torrevieja cancelled on June 8.
Others have also been notified of unexpected cancellations.
“I had my second AstraZeneca vaccine appointment cancelled and I’m awaiting further details,” said Torrevieja based Peter Deaves.
Angela Crookes said: “I received notification my second vaccination cancelled for June 29 and have no news yet, regarding re-scheduling.”
Heather Brown said: “When I asked at Lo Maribu medical centre I was told they didn’t have any AstraZeneca vaccine available and I’d be called when they had some.”

The Mayor with the Councillor for the Environment
The Councillor for the Environment, Pedro Miguel Moya, and the mayor of the town, travelled to Valencia to collect from the hand of President Ximo Puig, the six blue flags that have been awarded this year for the beaches of Mil Palmeras, Jesuitas, of the Count, Port, Calas de Rocamar and Higuericas.
The international award recognises the high quality of the water in the six beaches of Pilareñas, and also rewards the effort to comply with the required criteria of legality, accessibility, sanitation, environmental education, cleanliness and safety on the beaches.
Percy’s Ramblings
There was a quote on social Media a little while ago where somebody was asking what people did before television, and of course there was such a time. The answer by some wag was ‘families of eight or nine children.’ Does that mean people only fancy their partner when they are bored?
That time consuming edifice in beautiful, detailed colour in everyone’s homes owes its development to ‘John Logie Baird’ a Scottish inventor of the early nineteen hundred’s. One wonders if he had a vision of how his invention would develop, and would he feel guilty if he was capable of knowing that his amazing discovery produced an ‘Ann Boleyn’ which is nothing like that of history – why stop there and why not portray Admiral Nelson as a sheep dog.
